‘News Today’ is dictionary for news, says DMK president Stalin

Chennai: DMK president and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, M K Stalin, today said News Today is a dictionary for news.

In his greeting message to News Today on its stepping into the 37th year of publishing, he said, “On behalf of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, I convey my heartfelt wishes to News Today for successfully completing 36 years. The number one English evening newspaper of the city was started by T R Ramaswami, who was a doyen of journalism and close friend of Kalaignar (DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi). I am happy that it has grown big now.”

He said News Today stands for press freedom and publishes news without any bias. “It has carved a niche for itself among readers,” he said, and added that though there is no dearth of sensational news lately, News Today focusses on delivering constructive, useful and scientific news to readers.

“It has occupied a great place in the hearts of the people of Chennai,” said Stalin.

Congratulating News Today Group Editor, Chairman and Managing Director T R Jawahar and other members of the team, he said the newspaper should carry forward its journey for centuries.
