Chennai: Wishes have been pouring in from various quarters, greeting ‘News Today’ for successfully completing 36 years and stepping into the 37th.

Fisheries Minister and senior AIADMK leader D Jayakumar, in his message, said the publication carries forward boldly the rich and varied legacy that its founder T R Ramaswami has left.

“Publishing an evening daily for 36 years is not that easy. Unless it publishes unbiased news items on all subjects, it cannot earn the trust of the readers. The fundamental objective of journalism is to serve the people with news, views, comments and information on matters of public interest in a fair, accurate, unbiased and decent manner and language. This has been correctly carried out by News Today,” he said.

He also appreciated the paper’s role in carrying to the people information about the government’s schemes.

Tamil Maanila Congress president and former Union Shipping Minister G K Vasan said in his message that he was happy to learn that NT has stepped into its 37th year.
