Tamilnadu MPs disrupt proceedings in both Houses of Parliament

Chennai: Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 12 noon due to the ruckus created by the MPs from Tamilnadu.

In the Upper House, the Rajya Sabha, the members raked up Mekedatu, which is a burning issue in the State, and demanded an adjournment motion. Tamilnadu has been moving heaven and earth to stop Karnataka from building another dam across the Cauvery as it would affect the drinking water needs and livelihood of farmers in the lower riparian State.

In the Lower House, the Lok Sabha, they demanded a debate on the destruction wrought by severe cyclonic storm Gaja in the delta districts of the State and refused to quiet down.

So, both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 12 noon.
