Rs 1 lakh cash, jewels stolen from house in Chennai

Chennai: Burglars decamped with cash and gold from a house at Triplicane, when the woman was drying the clothes at the terrace.
According to the police, Venmathi (42), a resident of Pazhani Amman Koil Third Street, Triplicane, lived on the first floor of a house with her husband Selva, a swimming coach.

The incident took place on Wednesday noon when Venmathi went to the terrace to dry the clothes.

The couple in their complaint, alleged that Rs 1 lakh cash and nine sovereigns of jewels have been stolen. Police said the building and the surrounding areas did not have CCTV cameras and they are yet to find any suspects. Anna Square police have registered a case.
