Surrendered Maoist Padma admitted to Stanley hospital again

Chennai: Woman Maoist Padma alias Sathyamary (43) was rushed to Stanley Government Hospital after she suffered chest pain for the second time after her surrender in court recently.

According to the police, Padma was admitted to Stanley Hospital last evening at 5.30 and housed in the convicts ward.

It was said Padma has been taking medication for chest pain for a while.

She was brought to the hospital two days ago and discharged yesterday morning. But by evening she experienced pain and fell unconscious and was rushed back to the hospital, the police said.
However, highly placed sources say that Padma has been throwing tantrums in jail about her health condition. The police suspect this is part of a conspiracy as she refused to be treated at the hospital inside Puzhal prison.

Padma has been dodging the police from 2010 and surrendered early this month in court.
Officials are planning to shift her to a prison in Vellore or Coimbatore.

Padma was part of the Maoist women’s empowerment wing. She was arrested in 2017 at Erode while she was travelling by train from Kerala to Hyderabad.

When she came out on bail she absconded but surrendered before a special court in Poonamallee 6 December.

A native of PGSBH Colony at Gaddi Annaram, in Hyderabad, her husband Vivek is a Maoist and he is out on parole.
