Chennai: Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in association with Panimalar Engineering College conducted the third edition of National Finite Element Developers (NAFED) event at the college premises in Chennai recently. At that time, VSSC unveiled Feast Software which is equivalent to HyperMesh or Mastron or any other finite element analysis tool.
VSSC Director S Somanath was the chief guest on the occasion. Panimalar Engineeing College director C Sakthi Kumar, said, “In the inaugural session, there were three technical sessions pursued by panel discussions with the industrial leaders. This is the first ever time, NAFED is being held outside their own national body. Panimalar Engineering College takes utmost pride and privilege to host the event. When it comes to private institutions, Panimalar has highest student intakes in mechanical and civil engineering branches.”
VSSC former Group Director B P Shastry, former Deputy Director K L Handoo, Panimalar Engineering College correspondent and secretary P Chinnadurai, NAFED steering committe chairman S Sridhar, organising committee chairman B S Raju were present.
A press note said Feast software is made in India. Indian scientists have designed it will utilise it for Indian rockets. NAFED event witnessed participation of 400 Scientists with the total strength of 1,500 which includes 250-300 ISRO scientists from different sectors and the governing bodies across the country along with entrepreneurs, leading start-up companies, students, PhD scholars, PDF scholars and faculties.
