OPS praises ‘News Today’, says continue to render great service to readers

Chennai: It has been almost two weeks since News Today successfully completed 36 years and stepped into its 37th year, and still, leaders and top personalities from various fields are continuing to extend their greetings to the eveninger.

Joining the league, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has greeted the newspaper for completing 36 years of unbiased and devoted journalism.

In a letter to Editor T R Jawahar, Panneerselvam, the coordinator of the AIADMK, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to know that News Today, which was launched by our reverent leader Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR in the year 1982, has successfully completed 36 years of its devoted service to the nation and is entering the 37th year of its dedicated service to its readers.”

He said further: “News Today, Chennai’s largest circulated leading eveninger, has grown well all over the years and it brings out various special supplements on diverse subjects to its considerable number of readers in addition to daily news.”

“I congratulate the management, editor, publisher and staff of News Today for their dedication and hard work all these years and I am sure that News Today, which was largely supported by Puratchi Thalaivi Amma (Jayalalithaa), would boldly continue to render its great service to its worldwide readers in the years to come, keeping in view the high standards of journalistic ethics and also lofty ideals of its founder doyen late Shri T R Ramaswami.”

Panneerselvam added: “I wholeheartedly extend my best wishes to all on this joyful occasion of News Today stepping into its 37th year.”
