Indian Navy signs MoU with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Coimbatore: The Indian Navy’s Headquarters, Southern Naval Command (HQSNC) and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday for academic and research collaboration at the university’s campus in Coimbatore.

The MoU was exchanged between Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, and Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, P Venkat Rangan.

The MoU would encompass fields of mechanical engineering, electronics and communication, computer science and other areas of mutual interest such as bioscience, medical and cybersecurity.

Speaking on the occasion, Chawla emphasised the essentiality of such partnerships in academia between the armed forces and civil establishments towards developing new technologies, providing out-of-box solutions to complex technical issues as well as in pursuing the mission of Make in India process.
