Chennai: The countdown for 2019 has begun and people in the city are all gearing up for the New Year celebrations. Beginning with the very long coastline beach destinations to enjoyable bars, hotels, pubs, and resorts, New Year celebration in Chennai have the right vibe and activities to make your night, the most memorable one.
News Today spoke with a few organisers about the arrangements for the new year parties in the city. Gatsby, the night club and dance floor in the city is all set to embrace New Year on 31st evening with dance floor, photo booth, special visual effects and other interesting elements. They call the event ‘Evolve 2019’.
“We have 3 entertaining DJs to set the tune on the floor and offers unlimited beverage and starters for couples at Rs 7,999, women at Rs 3,999 and stags at Rs 4,999,” said, an event organizer at the night club.
Similarly, Vannakam 2019 at Sathyam Grand Resort is another attraction for New Year party for both friends and family alike.
The highlights of the party include fireworks show, live visuals, lucky draw gifts, hi-tech bar counter with unlimited starters and dinner for couples at Rs 3,999, family at Rs 4,999 and stags at Rs 2,499.
“6 varieties of country dances like Brazilian cultural dance and belly dance is our special for New Year. The evening is set ablaze by DJ Sivaji who sets the dance floor on fire and playback singers Aishwarya Ravichandran and Karthik will be singing evergreen karaoke songs,” says Sharmi, event organiser at Sathyam resorts.
The party at Turyaa Chennai and Fresco Entertainments will consist of eve with music, demanding DJ’s tunes, 3D visuals and desi songs coupled with proper feasts at svar, semana and dao restaurants. In addition to all these, Chennai has a lot many celebration places to enjoy.

Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan said all celebrations and parties must conclude at 1 am, he also specified that bars must close on time. Apart from this, the hotels must fix CCTV facility at areas where the parties, events and other revelries take place.
Another guideline is to have a security check of all the guests for safety precautions and asked the hotels to seek for assistance of women police at events where women in large numbers attend. The hotels have been asked to close the swimming pools, if the hotel cannot close it, then they can have security guards to keep visitors away from it. The party venues are not supposed to be held near a pool and organisers have been asked not to build a stage over the pool. |
