Chennai: Solapur Garment Manufacturers Association has stated that it aims to generate 2,000 new units in Solapur by the year 2022 and added that it is eying to be the uniform sourcing hub of India.
The association also announced the third edition of India’s Uniform, Garment and Fabric Manufacturers Fair 2019 in Bengaluru from 8 to 10 January.
On 8 January chairman, KLE society and MP from Rajya sabha, Dr Prabhakar Kore, Minister of Textile Maharashtra, Subhasji Deshmukh, Minister of State for textile Maharashtra, Arjunji khotkar, Director – Textile, Govt of India, Sushilji Gaekwad, a release stated.
The Fair will see brands, retailers, dealers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retail chains, semi-wholesalers, traders, distributors, e-commerce agents, retail chains under one roof, the release said.
“We are proud to organise the fair outside Maharashtra and are looking forward to wide range of response from all sectors of the textiles industry and from across the country,” said director, Solapur Garments Manufacturers Association, Satish Pawar.
Brainchild idea of Subhash Deshmukh, the first two Fairs were organized in Solapur in January 2017 and 2018, the release said.
