Chennai: Students of A M Jain School, Nanganallur, were gleeful as they gathered outside the Tamilnadu Assembly this morning. They were queuing up to go inside the Assembly that was in session.

It is customary for students to pay a visit to the Assembly when it is in session.

This being the last day of the short session of the Assembly, the students of A M Jain School had arrived to have their first brush with a democratic institution before they turn first-time voters.

It was a good day to be in the Assembly as an onlooker as there was heated debate with Leader of the Opposition, M K Stalin, raising the issue of  Supreme Court giving permission for Sterlite Copper Smelter plant to reopen in Thoothukudi. Replying to the question, Electricity Minister Thangamani assured that the government would file a review petition in the top court.
