In less than 24 hours, Petta, starring Rajinikanth, and Ajith’s Viswasam will be hitting the screens. After a long gap, two big films clash at the box office now.
Interestingly, both movies have managed equal number of screens across the State. Advance bookings for both are brisk and fans have lapped up tickets till the first weekend for both movies.
The focus now shifts to theatres where these movies would be screened. Ardent fans of both stars have decorated the cinema halls with posters, banners and festoons.
Ajith fans have even put up LED display boards featuring photographs from Viswasam. Old, reusable plastic has been used to come up with images of Ajith at a theatre.
Rajinikanth fans have gone a step ahead. They have decorated not just theatres but also the towns and cities where Petta is releasing with colourful posters and banners. Grand celebrations are being planned at theatres before the first show.
Though it is tough to predict who the winner will be as the first weekend collections are expected to be a close affair, fans say the movie with good content will hold fort. We can arrive at the real winner only after Pongal.
