Sanjay Dutt to play ‘Munnabhai 3’

Sanya Dutt is all set to be part of Munnabhai 3. Actor Arshad Warsi confirmed the news in a recent interview. Sources say that the script is pretty much ready.

He said, “I do know from Rajkumar Hirani that the film will go on floors either in the middle or end of this year. As of now, Sanjay Dutt and I have been confirmed to star in the film.”

In 2016, when Sanjay Dutt was released from Yerwada Central Jail after completing his sentence for illegal possession of firearms in 1993, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had announced that the third installment of Munna Bhai will begin in 2017, however, the project got delayed. It looks like Munna Bhai 3 will finally see the light of the day.

Speaking further about the third instalment, Arshad said, “I tend to do a film, forget about my character and I move on to the next one. I tend to forget, which is what happened with Munna Bhai. When I came for the second part, I was doing the same role differently when I realised something wasn’t quite right. Then, Rajkumar Hirani and I saw a couple of scenes from the first one and remembered how I should be doing it. This time too, I’m sure I will do it.”
