Chennai: In an attempt to create awareness on the impact of hazardous air pollution on the day of Bhogi, the vehicle campaign was kickstarted by Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) Chairman Shambhu Kallolikar at the corporate office today.
A press release issued by TNPCB stated, “The auto rickshaws will cover the 15 zones of Greater Chennai Corporation by holding placards, distributing pamphlets and making announcements. Thirty teams have been formed to conduct the activity in association with the department of police.”
The board will also conduct a survey across the city before and after Bhogi for assessing the air quality level. The event was attended by Member Secretary D Sekar and other TNPCB officials.
