Hyderabad: TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao Tuesday decided to hold talks with Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress. He is eyeing to rope the party into his in order to form a non-BJP non-Congress federal front.
According to a release, TRS’s working president K T Rama Rao and other senior leaders have been deputed to hold talks Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, which is to take place on Wednesday.
“TRS president and the Chief Minister decided to hold talks with YSR Congress party on the issue of joining hands for the federal front. TRS party’s working president K T Rama Rao, senior leader and MP Vinod Kumar and general secretaries Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Sravan Kumar Reddy were asked to hold discussions with Jaganmohan Reddy. Accordingly, KT Rama Rao and his team will hold talks with Jagan tomorrow (January 16),” said the release.
On 10 January, the Chief Minister, who returned to power in the 7 December 2018 assembly elections, had met Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as part of his efforts towards forming a non-Congress, non-BJP federal front.
He had also met Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJP) chief Naveen Patnaik seeking his support for the federal front.
