Chennai: The Tamilnadu School Education Department has announced that parents-teachers meeting should be held in all schools on Republic Day, Independence Day and Children’s Day every year from this year onwards.
Parents-teachers associations function in almost all schools of Tamilnadu and it’s quite common to see the members interacting with each other during the end of examinations. Teachers explain to parents about their wards’ performances. But, now, government has mandated the three dates when the meet should take place compulsorily.
In a circular issued by the School Education Department to all schools in Tamilnadu, its director Rameshwar Murugan has said according to Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan and Department Secretary Pradeep Yadav’s recent order, it’s mandatory to conduct parents-teachers meet in all schools every year on Republic Day, Independence Day and Children’s Day.
So, as per the order, the parents-teachers meeting should take place in all schools shortly after the upcoming Republic Day celebrations 26 January.
During the meeting, parents and teachers should discuss the current state of students, ways to improve their intelligence and knowledge, thereby increasing the pass percentage and growth of the school.
