Tirunelveli: Tamilnadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today claimed that DMK’s lawyers helped two of the accused in Kodanadu estate break-in case get bail.
Palaniswami, who was taking part in a meeting organised in connection with the 102nd birth anniversary celebration of AIADMK founder late M G Ramachandran, said that M K Stalin’s dream to become chief minister by unseating him would not come true.
He alleged that even as Stalin was trying to link him with the robbery case, the DMK lawyers were helping K V Sayan and Valayar Manoj get bail in court.
After being arrested in connection with a video footage in which they had allegedly linked Palaniswami to the break-in by a 10-member gang at the Kodanad estate, Sayan and Manoj were given bail at a Chennai court last week.
The opposition party had urged the Tamilnadu Governor to direct Palaniswami to resign in order to facilitate a fair probe. The Chief Minister, however, denied the allegations.
Palaniswami stated that AIADMK was ruling for more than two years under him and was also giving good governance. He accused Stalin of spreading rumours against the government as he wanted to become the chief minister.
