Kiwis all out for 157, India makes a steady chase

Napier: After bowling out New Zealand for 157 in the first ODI, Indians have a made a steady start to their chase. At lunch, Team India managed 41 for no loss. Shikar Dhawan was unbeaten on 29 and Rohit Sharma was batting on 11.

Earier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first. They were dismissed for 157 thanks to Kuldeep who picked up four wickets and Chahal getting two. Shami dismissed both the openers (Guptill and Munro).. Ross Taylor made 24, Latham managed just 11 and Nicholls was out for 12. Williamson was the top scorer. He made 64.

Mohammed Shami today became the fastest Indian to claim 100 wickets in One-day Internationals, reaching the mark in the opening match against New Zealand here. This was his 56th game in the 50-over format. Shami’s wicket number 100 was New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, who played onto his stumps a delivery that moved in after pitching on a good length.
