DMK terms Global Investors Meet as an illusion

Chennai: DMK chief M K Stalin used the famous “illusory deer” phrase from Ramayana and said the only truth about the AIADMK government’s Global Investors Meet was “nothing but a scene of the illusory deer.”

The meet which concluded on Thursday was just an illusion and waste of government money for publicity said Stalin. He said only when the full details of the investment proposals agreed during the meet emerge could it be ascertained if they were fake or were poised for execution.

Stalin lashed out at the AIADMK and said the biggest achievement of GIM was the wastage of government money for publicity by highlighting the photograph of Chief Minister K Palaniswami “in every nook and cranny”.

Stalin also accused the ruling government of allowing foreign trips for Ministers on the pretext of canvassing support for the meet. The meet was held despite knowing that global investors would not participate in view of the World Economic Forum’s meeting at Davos, he accused.
