Youngsters should fight corruption: Kamal Haasan

Chennai: “The onus of fighting corruption and bringing about a new politi-culture rests with the youth,” said Makkal Needhi Maiam chief and actor Kamal Haasan today.

Addressing students at Women’s Christian College here, he said, “The voting right gives us the opportunity to sculpt our collective destiny, our collective future.”

“Start sculpting the country’s freedom with responsibility. Young minds always have a wish list, A time bound Bucket List. Please put the need to vote on the very top of that list. I put it at third or fourth place. Many of my friends were even worse, they did not vote. Now we suffer the consequences.”

Kamal added, “The onus of fighting corruption and bringing about a new politi-culture rests with the youth. Only the youth now have the tenacity of purpose and will. We should help build a powerful India which is long overdue.”

Meanwhile, the MNM chief will embark on a two-day trip to Cuddalore tomorrow and visit various villages and interact with people. He will attend a few events including Grama Sabha meetings.
