India makes a solid start in second ODI

Mount Maunganui: Batting first, Team India managed a good start in the second ODI by posting 173 for 2 in 30 overs against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan stitched 154 run partnership for first wicket. Dhawan was out for 66 and Rohit made 87. Kohli and Rayudu are in the middle.

Earlier,  Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat. India fielded the same playing eleven that played in the first ODI which they won by eight wickets. New Zealand made two changes with Ish Sodhi and Colin de Grandhomme replacing Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee.

India won the first ODI at Napier a couple of days ago. Kuldeep picked four wickets and Shami took three.
