Chennai: The striking government staff and teachers can expect good news soon, said School Education Minister K Sengottaiyan after meeting Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami this morning.
The Minister met Palaniswami after the strike led by JACTO-GEO showed no sign of abating. In fact, the government staff and teachers, on strike for the fifth day today, have made a resolve not to return to work till their 9-point charter of demands is met.
The government’s stand and its decision will be known soon and it will be good news for the government staff and teachers, said Sengottaiyan after meeting the Chief Minister.
“We will meet with officials of various departments and come up with a good solution,” said the Minister.
Earlier in the day, he had repeated his appeal to the teachers to return to the negotiating table and to work, considering the plight of the poor students of government schools.
