Hyderabad: Daggubati Venkateswara Rao called on YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday and said his son Hitesh would be joining his party very soon.
Venkateswara Rao is the son-in-law of TDP founder of NT Rama Rao. According to a press release issued by the YSR Congress, Daggubati had said it was a conscious decision taken and that his wife Daggubati Purandeswari’s continuance in BJP would not hinder the prospects of his son and that she may even quit politics.
Daggubati said he was impressed with Jagan’s leadership and alleged that N Chandrababu Naidu was conducting party programme with government money.
Ahead of the general elections, the Andhra Pradesh government has been giving post-dated cheques to Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) groups, he said and termed it unethical and unfair.
