Choose Gandhi, Kalam as role models, says Governor Purohit to NCC cadets

Chennai: The Tamilnadu NCC Contingent which took part in the recently concluded Republic Day Camp at New Delhi was felicitated by Governor Banwarilal Purohit, at Raj Bhawan here Saturday.

The 111 strong contingent with 87 boys and 24 girls cadets won six medals in the All India Best Cadet category including four gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal. The Directorate was also adjudged as ‘Best Marching’ contingent in the Rajpath during Republic Day. The cultural team of the contingent was also adjudged the best.

Overall the Directorate has been adjudged the Best Directorate Runner Up for the year 2018 -19 for the second consecutive year, a press release said.

Congratulating the cadets, the Governor emphasised on the character building and importance of following right virtues.
He also advised the cadets to choose a role model in their life like Mahatma Gandhi and former President APJ Abdul Kalam and learn right virtues from their life.

Banwarilal also exhorted cadets to achieve higher goals in their future life.
