100 days of ’96’

The biggest romantic blockbuster of 2018, 96, completed 100 days and the entire team turned up at a star hotel last evening to celebrate the film akin to the school reunion pictured in it.

Filmmakers Cheran, actor Parthiepan and many heaped laurels on Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. Director Cheran who will director VJS’ next film, praised the ‘Makkal Selvan’ for the varies characters he has portrayed in a career spanning just a few years as lead actor.

Cheran said, “He is a monster actor. He can mesmerise anyone with his acting skills. I wonder how I’m going to handle him in my next directorial venture.”

The highlight of the night was when Parthiepan called up Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi on to the stage and requested them to embrace each other. While watching the movie, he said the audience were gasping with anticipation to know when the hero and heroine would embrace. Se, he called upon Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha to hug each other on stage and the duo obliged the cheering crowd.

Parthiepan said, “Vijay Sethupathi elevated the movie with his performance. Trisha has given a wonderful performance. This is her best. If not Trisha, there is no one for the role. She lived the role.”

On his part, Vijay Sethupathi credited 96 director Premkumar for the success and thanked him for the role. He said Trisha was the strength of the film and has done a wonderful job portraying ‘Janu’ – her character.

Trisha stated that she wants to be part of such fantastic films in the future. She also thanked Vijay for playing Ram in the movie. She gave credit to the entire team for the success of 96.
