Hyderabad: Congress president Rahul Gandhi was on Tuesday invited by an MLC in Telangana to contest from the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency in the coming parliamentary elections.
During a meeting of Congress leaders from Telangana with Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, P Sudhakar Reddy invited the party chief to contest from the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. Reddy also pointed out to Rahul that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also contested from two seats in the 2014 general elections.
The meeting was held to discuss the party’s performance in the recent assembly polls and preparations for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Although the party had lost in the Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi told the State unit to gear up for the Lok Sabha elections with an effective plan of action.
