Speaking at a Podhu Nalan Karudhi promo meet, Vasanta Balan questioned as to why Vishal took no steps to curb TamilRockers?
“Small movies in Tamil cinema are on the verge of extinction. But big films are getting released without any problems,” he said.
The film is directed by Zion and it talks about the predicaments of common people face from moneylenders who charge exorbitant interest rates in ‘Kandhu Vatti’. The movie features Santhosh Prathap, Adith Arun, Anu Sithara and Karunakaran. Plans are on for a release of the movie 8 February.
Yog Japee, Imman Annachi, editor Praveen KL, cinematographer Swaminathan, costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar are part of the team.
Zion said, “The story of Podhu Nalan Karudhi is based on three youngsters belonging to different social classes, coming to Chennai to make a living. Whether they succeed in their lives or not, forms the crux of the story. The film will focus on the mentality of youngsters.”
The director is confident about depicting the lives of youngsters in the city. “This film is not based on any real-life incidents. Rather, it will emphasise on one’s way of thinking. Also, this realistic movie deals with a serious subject, but will also entertain the audience,” he says.
