31,530 passengers make use of CMRL’s feeder service

Chennai: CMRL seems to have had a good run in January, as it transported 31,530 passengers through its feeder services.

According to a press release, CMRL has taken several last-mile connectivity measures for its passengers among which share auto and share taxis are plying at select Metro stations on a trial basis since 11 August 2018.

“A total of eight stations were identified for share autos which are running on the designated feeder routes with a flat tariff of Rs 5. Similarly, the share taxis were planned for five select Metro stations and they are covering an area upto 3 km with a flat tariff of Rs 10,” the release said.

It further said continuing on the success of the initiative, 31,530 passengers in January have utilised the feeder service. Of them, 3,713 passengers have used share taxis, while 27,817 have utilised share autos. It is said 1,77,924 passengers have availed the services combined between 11 August 2018 and 31 January 2019.
