Chennai: The budget session of the Tamilnadu Assembly begins tomorrow.
According to reports, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who is also the Finance Minister, will be presenting the budget for 2019-20.
What is notable is that this would be the 8th time that he would be presenting the budget in the Assembly as Finance Minister.
With the general elections just months away, it is expected that it would be a please-all budget, filled with sops.
This would be the 6th session of the 15th Assembly of the State. After the budget is presented in the House, the Business Advisory Committee would be meeting to discuss the duration of the session.
The Opposition, for its part, is gearing up to corner the government on various issues like Chief Minister Palaniswami’s name being linked to the Kodanad case.
