Chennai: In an attempt to diagnose and treat illnesses associated with liver and pancreas, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare C Vijayabaskar today inaugurated mobile C-Arm with digital subtraction angiogram at Madras Medical College.
Addressing reporters, he said, “With this instrument, the other organs in the vicinity can be hidden and blood vessel imaging can be done. Liver diseases in the primitive stages, tumours, gall stones and other such conditions can be diagnosed and minimally-invasive surgery is done with the device.”
The above procedure is covered under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS), he said.
The event also saw the inauguration of yoga hall and hand sanitiser prepared by the students of college to prevent communicable diseases from spreading.
