Tamilnadu budget: Organic Certification centres to be set up in all districts

Chennai: In an attempt to encourage organic farming, Tamilnadu government announces setting up of Organic Certification Centres in all districts in the State.

Two lakh hectares of land to be covered by micro irrigation at Rs 1,361 crore; farmers to be given a subsidy assistance of Rs 84.09 crore for 2,000 solar-powered pumps with a capacity of 10 HP.

Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who also wields the Finance portfolio in the Tamilnadu Cabinet, is presenting the budget today.
