Tamilnadu budget: Rs 2,000 cr project to tackle Chennai’s parking issues


Chennai: Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who also wields the Finance portfolio in the Tamilnadu Cabinet, today allocated funds for waste management in the capital city.

The government has allocated Rs 1,546.04 crore for comprehensive solid waste management project for Chennai. This would involve collection and transportation of solid waste in eight zones in two packages.

Parking is a big headache for residents of Chennai as well as visitors. So, to tackle this issue, the budget announced a Rs 2,000 crore project for integrated parking management in the State capital.

This would accommodate over 2 lakh four-wheelers and two-wheelers, said the Minister.
