Modi to visit TN tomorrow, security beefed up

Coimbatore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make a visit to Perumanallur in Tirupur district tomorrow, and over 2,500 police personnel have been deployed to provide him security.

The foundation stone for a 100-bedded ESIC Hospital will be laid by the Prime Minister and other welfare schemes are said to be initiated.

According to reports, a helipad is being constructed and two platforms are being erected for his visit. One is said to be for a state government function and another to address party workers. Functionaries from Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal and Nilgiris districts are said to participate in the meeting.

Checks are also being conducted by the police at lodges in and around Tirupur to nab anti-socials, added the report.
