The audio clip will be probed, says Karnataka speaker

Bengaluru: Karnataka Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar on Friday said the audio clip allegedly involving BJP state chief B S Yeddyurappa and a JD(S) MLA will be probed on Monday.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy yesterday released two audio clips purportedly of BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa trying to lure JD(S) MLA Nagan Gouda, claiming the party was trying to topple his government and it was being done with the knowledge of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters, the speaker said, “On Monday I will take it up suo motu in the Assembly and will get the inquiry done. We will not let any street urchin speak like this about the Speaker andothers. Yeddyurappa did not say it. Obviously, someone in thatmoment said so.” His name was also mentioned in the audio conversation.

“They invoke the names of judges, Prime Minister and the BJP national president during the conversation. I don’t know who the person is.That must now be subjected to inquiry. Proper forum for me to mention it is the assembly,” he further stated.
