Guidebooks for board exam students released

Chennai: Guidebooks and answer-keys for class 11 and 12 students studying State Board syllabus was unveiled by School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan, Monday. It will be available online at for all six subjects.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “The book tells the students on how to answer the questions and how marks are awarded. Earlier, a blueprint was provided to students before exams. This method has been abolished now as students studied only selected question based on blueprint. The answer key and guidebooks will make students study everything in the syllabus and increase their knowledge.”

With the Tamilnadu State Board Exams less than a month away, the Minister said the Education Department is leaving no stone unturned to conduct it in a smooth and fair manner.

He said, “We have added 242 exam centres this year. In the last two years, 742 new exam centres have been added in total. This has been done to make sure that no student has to travel more than 10 km to write their exams. We will be adding more centres in the future.”

On the allegations of question paper leak last year and the measures taken by the government to step-up surveillance, the Minister said, “CCTV cameras have been installed at important centres. But we cannot do it in all centres due to the fund situation in the State.”
