Hyderabad: The BJP General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao on Wednesday said the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report presented in the Parliament revealed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi was spreading misinformation on the Rafale deal and his claims were far from the truth.
Speaking to reporters, Rao said the BP had brought an end to the system of middlemen that had existed during Congress rule. The Supreme Court and the CAG haven’t found fault with the government. He charged that Rahul was indulging in such talks with an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections.
He further said BJP would take Congress‘ politics of bankruptcy to the people.
Rafale fighter jets were 2.86 percent cheaper than the price that was being negotiated by the UPA in 2012. But further claimed that as the banking charges had been waived, the price agreed by the Indian government should have been even lower. Also, removal of sovereign guarantees only benefited the French manufacturer.
Rahul Gandhi, however, slammed the report and called it ‘Chowkidar’ Auditor General report.
