KTR pays homage to Pulwama martyrs, donates Rs 25 lakh

Hyderabad: K T Rama Rao, TRS Working President, yesterday paid homage to the 40 CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 14 February.

After paying floral tributes to the martyrs at the CRPF southern sector headquarters, Rama Rao handed over two cheques of Rs 25 lakhs each to Inspector General of Police, CRPF, Southern sector, G H P Raju, for the families of the slain jawans.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt sincere condolences to the families of 40 CRPF jawans who laid down their lives in securing our nation and security out citizens. I have come here in personal capacity, nor as an MLA nor as party leader. The nation and all the citizens will never forget the martyrs’ sacrifices. They will continue to remain in our hearts and prayers,” he said.

He also wished the injured CRPF personnel a speedy recovery and said because of the men in uniform the people feel are made to feel safe.

In what could be termed one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, a Jaish suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with over 100 kg of explosives into a bus carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Pulwama district on 14 February.
