The Telugu Desam party chief organised a day-long protest in New Delhi on 11 February demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh and has planned for another massive rally in the State. The rally would be held in the first week of March. Leaders of 22 parties who attended the Trinamool Congress rally in Kolkata have been asked to take part in Naidu’s protest.
Naidu’s protest in the national capital demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh became a rallying point. The opposition met the second time in less than a month to present a united front against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
