Chennai: Talks are on right now between the DMK negotiating team and CPI(M) leaders on seat-sharing for the upcoming general elections this year.
CPI(M) past State secretary G Ramakrishnan, present secretary K Balakrishnan and a couple of other senior leaders are confabulating with the DMK team that consists of party treasurer Durai Murugan, K N Nehru, Ponmudi and others.
It is expected that the Communist party would seek two seats from the DMK. Speculation is rife that it would want to contest from safe seats like Madurai and Kanyakumari.
Apart from this, the CPI leaders have been invited for talks with the DMK in the afternoon at the same venue – Anna Arivalayam – the DMK headquarters.
