Chennai: RMK Vivekananda beat Guru Nanak college by 6 wickets to win the eleventh edition of the Padma Shri Mohanmullji Chordia Gold Cup Cricket Tournament conducted by the AM Jain College, at its college premises at Minambakkam from 13 to 20 February.
In the final, Nidish Rajagopal of Vievkananda scored a quick fire 58 runs of 36 balls and also took one wicket in his four overs to be crowned as the star of the match. Earlier, Guru Nanak scored 166/5 in 20 overs and Vivekannada scored it 167/4 in 18.4 overs.
In the Women’s Finals-JBAS batting first scored 92/2 in 20 overs and WCC won it easily by scoring 93/3 in 16 overs. The player of the match was Priyavadhani who took two wickets, conceding 23 runs. S Madhavan, former Ranji cricketer presented the trophies.
Best Batsman and bowler of of the Tournament was Praveen Kumar and Silambarasan from Vivekananda. In the women, Priyavadhani won the best batswoman of the tourney while Kanaga D was adjudged as the best bowler.
