Chennai: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S Ramadoss hosted a dinner at his Thailapuram residence for Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his Cabinet colleagues yesterday.
According to sources, days after stitching an alliance with the ruling AIADMK, the PMK chief met Palaniswami for the first meeting and discussed poll preparations over dinner at his farm house.
AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and ministers including P Thangamani, S P Velumani, C Ve Shanmugam and K P Anabalagan were also present at the dinner.
Ramadoss and his son Anbumani, Dharmapuri Lok Sabha MP, welcomed them. Reports said they had prepared special vegetarian food for the feast. However, both the parties did not reveal about the deliberations made at the meeting.
PMK and AIADMK had sewn up the alliance for the upcoming general elections with seven seats being allotted to the PMK on 19 February. AIADMK coordinator Panneerselvam said the PMK would be given seven seats in the “mega alliance” and “alliance for victory”. According to the pact, one Rajya Sabha seat has also been allocated for the PMK.
