Owaisi welcomes air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan

Hyderabad: Hailing the IAF’s strikes in Pakistan targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed’s terror camps yesterday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, said he welcomed the attack and that Indian defence forces should be prepared to tackle any retaliatory action.

Speaking to reporters, Owaisi said, “I was expecting this sort of response within 2 or 3 days after the Pulwama terror attack. I welcome this step… We stand with the government on this.”

Navy and Air Force must be on alert if Pakistan wanted to take some stupid action in response to the air strikes, he added.

India’s fighter jets crossed the Line of Control and destroyed a vast terror camp within Pakistan in a pre-dawn strike yesterday. Twelve IAF Mirage 2000 fighter jets targeted JeM camps in Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad along with JeM control rooms with laser-guided bombs.

India’s retaliation comes days after Pakistan-based JeM terror group attacked CRPF convoy in Kashmir’s Pulwama district, killing 40 soldiers.
