Chennai: A jail warden at Puzhal prison, who was suspended for taking money from prisoners promising facilities inside jail, attempted suicide by drinking mosquito repellent at Camp Road in Puzhal.
Sources said Livingston Prabhu (24) was found in an unconsious state in his house by his neighbours this morning. He was rushed to hospital immediately. He was admitted to ICU.
Enquiries reveal that he was suspended from duty for taking bribe from prisoners recently. Apparently dejected, Prabhu attempted to end his life by consuming mosquito repellent.
