Chennai: In a day of quick developments, the DMK has roped in the CPI by allotting two seats for the upcoming general elections.
After seat-sharing talks this morning, the deal was struck.
Speaking to mediapersons after understanding with the Dravidian major, CPI State secretary R Mutharasan expressed happiness at having been allotted two seats in the DMK alliance.
Of the total 40 seats available in Tamilnadu and Puducherry, the DMK has already given away 10 seats to the Congress (including one in Puducherry), two seats each to VCK and CPI and one seat each to IUML, KDMK and IJK. The deal with the MDMK is yet to be sealed.
The allocation of constituencies is still to be decided upon, say reports.
