Opposition trying to break AIADMK alliance: CM

Chennai: Chief Minister and AIADMK joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami today said more parties will join the alliance led by his party. He also said opposition parties are trying to create confusion and split in the AIADMK alliance.

Meanwhile, Ministers Rajenthra Balaji and Jayakumar today criticised DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth for her comments about the AIADMK.

Rajenthra Balaji said Vijayakanth became the Leader of Opposition in 2011 only because he forged an alliance with the AIADMK. Jayakumar said he cannot accept Premalatha’s allegations that no development has happened in the state because of the 37 AIADMK MLAs. He also said
Premalatha talking in singular during press meets is not acceptable.

Also, Sulur MLA R Kanagaraj said the downfall of DMDK was triggered only because of the way in Vijayakanth spoke in the Assembly. “DMDK might get 500 or 1,000 votes. Holding alliance talks with both the parties is a big mistake,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pudukottai AMMK district secretary Shanmuganathan along with his supporters today joined the AIADMK in the presence of Palaniswami.
