Passenger loses Rs 80,000 cash in train, gets it back

Chennai: The Railway Protection Force recovered a bag containing Rs 80,000 and documents of a passenger at Egmore station this morning.

According to the police, P Jayaraman from Mangalore got down at Tambaram and had forgotten a hand luggage which contained cash and Aadhar card and tickets.

Immediately, Constable Sachin Kumar Yadav who was on duty passed on the message to RPF staff Head Constable Tirupathy at Egmore to recover the items. Along with duty officer Chandra Mohan they secured the bag which contained Rs 81,260, Aadhar card, and onward train journey ticket for Shridi Sai Baba temple.

Police said, Jayaraman got down at Tamaram to visit his relatives. After verification, the items were handed over to him.
