Chennai: The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court today directed the Central government to remove videos related to Pollachi serial sexual assault case from the internet. Also, it wanted the Tamilnadu government to issue a fresh order for CBI probe.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) has sought the custody of one of the accused Thirunavukarasu.
According to sources, the CB-CID filed a petition at a Pollachi court seeking his custody. Thirunavukarasu is one of the four accused arrested by police for befriending women on social media, then raping and videotaping the acts.
It is said that the men had been doing organised rapes for the past seven years. Yesterday, after a four-hour-long search at his house in Makkinampatti, a special team of the CB-CID recovered five mobiles. The team also found documents related to financial transactions, sim cards and storage device.
