Telangana home minister visits family of Christchurch attack victim

Hyderabad: Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Telangana Home Minister, met the family of Christchurch attack victim Ozair Khadir and offered condolence.

Khadir a resident of Hyderabad was one of the 50 killed in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand last week. Five Indians, including three from Gujarat, were among those killed. The minister wrote to Union Minister Sushma Swaraj urging her to make all necessary arrangements to bring the mortal remains of the deceased at the earliest.

The minister also visited the family members of Ahmed Iqbal Jahangir who was seriously injured in the attack. Ali requested Swaraj to take all measures for providing advanced medical treatment to the injured.

The attack was carried out by 28-year-old white man Brenton Harrison Tarrant, who has been charged with murder ever since.
