Karnataka minister Shivalli passes away

Bengaluru: 56-year-old C S Shivalli, Karnataka Municipal Administration Minister, passed away at a hospital in Hubballi yesterday.

According to media reports, he admitted to the hospital after he complained of fever and vomiting. He died at around 1.40 pm in a heart attack.

He was the three-time MLA from Kundgol in Dharwad district, once as an independent and twice from the Congress. He was inducted into the Kumaraswamy-led coalition Cabinet in December last year when it was expanded.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy condoled his death. He said Shivalli was with him till Thursday night during his visit to the building collapse site in Dharwad.
