Hyderabad: Shakeel Ahmed Ansari, an assistant public prosecutor at a court in Hyderabad, was arrested on charges of taking bribe of Rs 8,000.
The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) team arrested him after Ansari had demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant. The complainant had sought favour from him not to implicate his mother again in a criminal case.
While the ACB officials arrived at his office-cum-residence, Ansari tore up the currency notes and flushed them in his toilet. However, the officials recovered the torn notes from the drain and arrested Ansari.
